Title IX -  Sexual Discrimination Policy and Sexual Harassment Grievance Procedures

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Title IX regulations prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, including gender-based and sexual harassment discrimination, in Skyview School, Inc.’s educational programs and activities, including employment.  Skyview is committed to maintaining an educational and working environment free from sex discrimination and harassment and encourages any student or employee who believes they have been subjected to discrimination on the basis of sex, whether by students or by Skyview School employees, to utilize this procedure.

Title IX Training

In compliance with the new Title IX Rule (effective August 14, 2020), Skyview School's Title IX personnel (including "the coordinator, any investigator, any decision-maker, and any person who facilities an informal resolution") are required to participate in training as follows:
  • Title IX's definition of "sexual harassment"
  • The scope of the school's education program or activity
  • How to conduct an investigation and grievance process
  • How to serve impartially, including by avoiding pre-judgment of the facts at issue
  • How to avoid conflicts of interest and bias
  • Decision-makers must receive training on any technology to be used at a live hearing and on issues of relevance of questions and evidence, including when questions and evidence about a complainants sexual predisposition or prior sexual behavior are not relevant
  • Investigators must receive training on issues of relevance to create an investigative report that fairly summarizes relevant evidence.
