4th/5th Grade Teacher

Taylor Kelling is a dedicated educator with over a decade of experience teaching high school English at Northpoint Academy. Trained in the EL (Expeditionary Learning) education model, Taylor believes students learn best through doing. He emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning and strongly believes in the importance of social-emotional education. Guided by the Dalai Lama's quote, "When educating the minds of the youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts," Taylor strives to create a nurturing and holistic learning environment in his classroom.
Taylor received his bachelor's degree in Education from Prescott College, where he developed a love for teaching, creative writing, and literature, particularly folklore and mythology. Taylor is devoted to bringing these stories to life in his classroom, inspiring students with the magic of ancient tales and modern narratives through ELA, Social Studies, and Math.
Outside of teaching, Taylor is a proud father to his 2-year-old son, Strider. He loves music and art, the beauty of nature, and getting lost in a good book. He spends his free time with his wife and son, drawing, playing guitar, and exploring the outdoors.

Hello! My name is Karyssa Porter this will be my second year here at Skyview as an aide in 4/5 and I am so happy to be a part of the amazing team we have here! A bit about my background is that I completed my associates in elementary education through the Maricopa community colleges and I have several years of experience working with children and families with many diverse needs from all walks of life. When my family first moved to Prescott in 2023 I became aware of how Skyview uses the multiple intelligences theory to help develop a project based curriculum and I just knew it would be the perfect place for my own 3 children. I truly believe every individual is unique and this model allows kids to learn in ways that align with their strengths, helps boost their confidence, and will hopefully foster a lifelong love of learning. It is really an honor to be able to be a part of that. In my free time you might find me getting lost in a good book, working on an exciting "do it yourself" project or with my family, friends or pets exploring the many beautiful spots our state has to offer. I look forward to another year of being able to support this amazing community of learners, families and educators that we have here at Skyview.

Hello! My name is Marisa, and I’m excited to be the 4/5 aide this year at Skyview. It’s such a privilege to work at such a fantastic school. I’ve spent the past seven years working with kids of all ages, and I’m looking forward to expanding my experience here. While I am a native to AZ, I recently moved to Prescott from Phoenix, and I’m excited to enjoy the beautiful weather and nature this area has to offer!
