![]() I am honored to be part of the 3/4 Intermediate teaching team at Skyview School. I carry with me approximately 20 years of teaching experience, including environmental education, dance/yoga instruction, private tutoring, and classroom teaching. This year will be my seventh year teaching at the third/ fourth grade level.
I graduated with honors from Mills College in Oakland, California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, an Arizona teaching certificate, a reading specialist endorsement, and an early childhood education endorsement. During my career, I have helped develop water/environmental education programs at Sharlot Hall Museum, The Spot Children’s Museum, and the Heritage Park Zoo. In addition, I was recently nominated for Teacher of the Year in Yavapai County and was first runner up in the small school districts category. As a dancer, I continue to perform, choreograph and teach classes. In my classroom, I draw from these, as well as other life experiences to enrich Skyview's multiple intelligence-based curriculum. My husband, Cisco, and I are long-time residents of Prescott, where we are currently raising our two children, Noble and Sedona (both Skyview students). We are honored to be a part of the Skyview Community. I am passionate about teaching, learning, and sharing my wonderment of the world with children. I strive to craft a classroom atmosphere in which my students feel safe, valued, supported, and appropriately challenged. I work alongside my students to help them become independent, confident, life-long learners with the foundational skills and experiences that will allow them to lead productive, meaningful lives. |
