Hello, my name is Michelle Reordan! I am incredibly grateful to be a part of a community of teachers at Skyview who honor our students' learning and growth as a whole child. I am a proud native Arizonan. I am blessed with two amazing boys who are the lights of my life, and constantly keep me on my toes! In my “spare time” I can be found garding, exploring nature with my kids, baking, and reading. I have a wide range of education starting with Equine Science, an AA in Early Childhood education, my BA in Elementary Education, and am working on my Master of Arts in History. When I found myself working here at Skyview School, I felt that I had finally found my home. With 9 years of teaching experience, I joined Skyview first as an aide, completing my student teaching in the 2-3 level. Now I am so happy to be one of the 4-5 teachers. I love witnessing learning through doing. Giving my students an opportunity to respond to material helps them construct their own meanings to learning. I believe my classroom presents a unique community of learners that varies not only in abilities, but also in learning styles. I will show children how to use the tools they already have, to cultivate their own gardens of knowledge in critical thinking. To accomplish this goal, I will teach to the needs of each child so that all learners can feel capable and successful. As a teacher, it is my job to be there to provide pathways for students to explore their own values, meanings, and choices. I believe the work teachers do in the classroom has a deep effect towards students becoming problem solvers and active members of society.
