Kerry Johnson, proud mom of Skyview students Jack and Ivy, is thrilled to once again put on her teaching hands (covered, doubtless, in dry erase marker marks!) and join the inspiring staff at Skyview School. For eleven years, Kerry taught as a self-contained special education teacher in the Phoenix area, with ten of those years spent teaching in the Madison School District. She particularly enjoys the task of helping struggling students find ways to achieve and shine so that they love coming to school each day.
In her personal life, Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband Brent, the kiddos, and their dogs, Betsy and Boomer, writing and working up songs with the other "Gurls" in her band, The Gurley Girls, traveling anywhere, teaching piano, cooking, hiking, and enjoying time with her one-of-a-kind family and friends. |

I love being a teacher because every day I wake up excited to go to work, knowing that at some point in my day, a child is going to teach me a new lesson. My students make me see the world through their eyes.
I have taught elementary education in the Prescott area since 1993, teaching grades 1st through 5th. I am a second generation Arizona native and attended junior high and high school in the beautiful city of Prescott. After graduation from Prescott High, I earned my BS in Elementary Education from NAU. Currently, I am a K8 Arizona certified teacher with a Structured English Immersion Endorsement. In 2004, I was honored to receive the Yavapai County K3 Teacher of the Year award. I met my husband, Brian, while attending PHS. Both our children, Jake and Emma, have been students of Skyview School since kindergarten! |

Hi!
My name is Hilary and this is my fourth year here at Skyview. Before becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist, I taught 7 th and 8 th grade math for 5 years. I decided to switch careers and have worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in various schools across Yavapai County since 2016. I absolutely love the positive environment here at Skyview and work with kiddos to address speech sound acquisition, receptive and expressive language, fluency, and social language skills. In my spare time, you can find me chasing after my toddler Jack. He is the joy of my life and keeps me on my toes. |

Hi, I am Karie Hammond and I have been the occupational therapist here at Skyview since 2019. I love the community and how the educators all work together and want what is best for all of the students
I have been an occupational therapist since 1996 and love helping people of all ages be as capable as they can be. Here at Skyview, I mainly work on fine motor skills which of course includes handwriting, tying, using scissors, typing, using a ruler, and so much more. I have 2 children, Alexandra and Dillon, 2 dogs, and a cat. I have been married to my husband for 16 years. We love camping, traveling, hiking, and watching movies together. I also love yoga, Reiki, and am working on my aromatherapy certification. |

Hello everyone! My name is Nikki, and I’m ecstatic to join this incredible team as a Special Education aide in grades 2/3. I have 7 years of teaching experience in various inclusive classrooms. I came to Skyview because of its fabulous humans and amazing community! I’m a proud mama to my daughter, Ashtyn, who is so excited to be a Skyview student! In my free time, I love to be with nature, have dance parties with my family, adventure with my hubby, make bracelets, snuggle my animals, and do yoga. I can’t wait to get to know you all!

Hi, I’m Jill, and I’m so grateful to be a part of the Skyview community! My husband Matt and I found the school after a brief introduction to Prescott. Our two kids, Lia and Jasper, are both Skyview graduates. As a family, we enjoyed the journey of education at the school. Our kids learned more than academics here. They gained confidence through presentations, group learning, responsibility and contribution, among other aspects. Lia developed a sense of belonging as well as connections to academics as never before, delving into writing and actually liking math! Jasper rode his bike with the Skyview Dragons, radically changing the way that he exercised his body and mind. The confidence they both cultivated has been wonderful to witness.
My participation in the Skyview School Board allowed me to participate in a different way. Now, as a counselor for students, I am able to extend my professional skills while continuing to feel embraced by the Skyview community. The culture of this school allows us all to feel welcome, challenged and significant. My background in special education and mental health counseling allows me to appreciate the unique needs of students who are experiencing challenges. The people who work at this school all help to make it a wonderful place to be. When I am not at school or work, I am usually in the woods with my dog or practicing yoga, Pilates and belly dance. I love good food and cooking, learning about all types of cultures, spending time with Matt, Jasper and Lia. I am surprising myself all of the time, including the fact that I have almost 200 days on Duo Lingo, re-learning Spanish :) I am excited to see how we can all grow and learn together! |
