Middle School (7-8)
Karla Cruz
|
Hi there!
My name is Karla Cruz and I have been at Skyview since 2013. I started as a teachers aide in multiple classrooms K-8 which has given me the opportunity to experience working with students of all ages. Growing up I knew I always wanted to be a teacher. Coming from a family of immigrants, I knew that this was a dream that was not going to be easy. My family and I moved to US in 2001. I spent 6 years in English Language Learners program. With the support of my family, I was able to test out of the program and take normal classes in high school. In 2017 I graduated with my bachelors degree in elementary education. I then became the 5th and 6th grade teacher for 2 years. After my second year of teaching, I decided to take a step back and venture the world. I moved the to Big Island of Hawaii for a year and disconnected from reality until the pandemic hit. As I saw educators all over the country struggle during this time, I knew it was time to get back in the classroom. I have always been passionate about teaching, but knowing that I could continue impact lives during difficult times motivated me even more. |
Adrienne Carey
|
Adrienne Carey is a long time Prescott resident, living here since the age of 5.
Adrienne has a husband Tony, and a son Conner who attends Skyview and is in 2nd grade! As a family they do many, many things and stay super busy. Adrienne and Tony coach most of Conner's sports and every weekend is full of adventures and fun! Adrienne is a certified teacher who is highly qualified in the subject of biology. Her education is from several universities and includes two master's degrees. During her college years Adrienne played Division 2 softball. Adrienne has been teaching expeditionary education at the high school level for the last 10 years and has seen 10 graduating classes! She absolutely loves teaching high school biology and chemistry but has decided that it is time for a change and is very excited to move to middle school at Skyview. Adrienne is incredibly passionate about all things science! Adrienne's hobbies are plentiful. She struggles to find time to fit them all in! Her main hobby is the sport of roller derby. Adrienne founded Northern Az Roller Derby in 2008 and has played at a high level of competition since, playing in other states and even countries. She also co-owns Oh My Quad Skate Shop here in Prescott, has a side cake and cupcake business, enjoys playing guitar, singing and Disneyland. Adrienne absolutely loves all things Halloween and on any given day, you'll find her wearing black and orange. |
Elisa Wells

Hi there! My name is Elisa Wells and I am so thrilled to be joining the Skyview family as an aide in Ms. Karla's 7th/8th grade class this year. Most recently. I have worked as a substitute at the Family Enrichment Center at Yavapai College, but I have had the pleasure of working in the education field for over 13 years in various roles. I am a mama of three, ranging in ages from 5 to 18 years, and to say my family is my world would be an understatement. I'm obsessed. They are my heart. In my free time, I love hanging out with my family, reading, listening to music, and watching movies. I'm looking forward to getting to know all our families here at Skyview. This year is going to be awesome!

Bonnie Sanderford

Hello! My name is Bonnie Sanderford. I am a Prescott Native and have seen our town grow from the small community it was when I was a kid in the 70s, to the bustling suburbia we have now. My husband, Dorian, works for US Bank and I have two amazing sons, Adrian and Julian, who keep us both very busy with sports schedules and school activities! Julian is a new 6th grader here at Skyview and we are all thrilled! Adrian graduated from PHS in May 2025 and is now in Glendale, AZ playing baseball for GCC...thank goodness he's not too far away that we can still watch games and have him home to visit!
In addition to my immediate family, my mom is my new next door neighbor and I have four cats that I adore. I love living in the PNF and utilizing all the amazing mountain bike trails, hiking trails, and lakes we are so lucky to have! This is my second year at Skyview as an aide to Ms. Adrienne in middle school. I ADORE these teenage people! Before Skyview, I worked for PUSD in the pre school and before my own children I taught 4th grade at Mountain View Elementary school in Prescott Valley. I am so grateful to Dena for offering me the middle school position as I feel totally at home here and am so glad to have finally found my people! |
