¡Hola a todos!
My name is Mr. Kyle Short, an enthusiastic educator originally from Dover, Delaware. I am excited to share my passion for the Spanish language with all grade levels of the students at Skyview School. I have been teaching languages for 15 years, mostly at the high school level. I have been lucky enough to study, live, and travel abroad to expand my knowledge of hispanic cultures and how the language is used in real life situations. While our classroom lessons begin with the basics, my goal is to help every student build a solid foundation of Spanish language skills. I want to encourage all students to be life-long learners and understand that language acquisition isn’t an overnight process, but is well worth the continued effort. My BA from University of Delaware is in Spanish Language, and I have been fortunate to hone those skills while working in various countries and states. My wife is also a Spanish teacher, and we are working hard to raise our two children in a bilingual environment. Besides teaching languages, my passions and hobbies are related to being outdoors. I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, hunting, fishing, and gardening in my spare time. Hello, my name is Nick, and I am from Portland, Oregon. I come from a long line of teachers, so I’ve always grown up with that career in mind. I just moved to Prescott after living in Tucson for 4 years pursuing a History degree at the UofA. I love spending my time outdoors, drawing, reading, and hanging out with friends and family. My current goals in life are to pursue becoming a teacher and potentially go back to school to become a professor. I learned about Skyview through a family friend and decided it would be the perfect opportunity. Every staff member has been super accepting and helpful during my onboarding. I’m happy to be a part of this community.
