![]() My name is Carrie Vickerman and I am an Arizona native who grew up in Lake Havasu City and Prescott. I went to college in Phoenix and earned my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 2000. I then taught 4th grade for two years in the inner city of Phoenix. After that, I realized I wanted to move back home to Prescott with my husband, Damon. I taught two more years in Prescott Valley at a Montessori charter school, followed by a long tenure at Miller Valley Elementary School, as a 4th and 5th grade teacher for 8 years.
During this time, I earned my Master's in Elementary Education, with a Reading Endorsement. So, to sum it up, I've been teaching for many years! Since the Fall of 2012, I served as one of two Intermediate 3-4 teachers at Skyview School, moving into the 5-6 in 2015. In the summers, I have worked at various camps in town, running adventure camps, doing outdoor education, directing ropes courses, and more. I have a certification from the National Outdoor Leadership School in backpacking and rock climbing. Some of my hobbies include camping, traveling, cooking, and gardening. In my spare time, I love to hang with my family, which consists of my daughter, Sadie, my son, Oliver, my husband, Damon, 2 dogs (Chica and Tippicanoe) and four chickens. |
