My name is Carrie Vickerman and I am an Arizona native who grew up in Lake Havasu City and Prescott.  I went to college in Phoenix and earned my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 2000.  I then taught 4th grade for two years in the inner city of Phoenix. After that, I realized I wanted to move back home to Prescott with my husband, Damon. I taught two more years in Prescott Valley at a Montessori charter school, followed by a long tenure at Miller Valley Elementary School, as a 4th and 5th grade teacher for 8 years.
During this time, I earned my Master's in Elementary Education, with a Reading Endorsement. So, to sum it up, I've been teaching for many years!
Since the Fall of 2012, I served as one of two Intermediate 3-4 teachers at Skyview School, moving into the 5-6 in 2015.
In the summers, I have worked at various camps in town, running adventure camps, doing outdoor education, directing ropes courses, and more. I have a certification from the National Outdoor Leadership School in backpacking and rock climbing. Some of my hobbies include camping, traveling, cooking, and gardening. In my spare time, I love to hang with my family, which consists of my daughter, Sadie, my son, Oliver, my husband, Damon, 2 dogs (Chica and Tippicanoe) and four chickens.

My name is Elise Corcoran and I am thrilled to teach 5/6 at Skyview School this year! I moved to Prescott in 2009 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Adventure Education and Human Development from Prescott College. After graduating with a B.A. in 2012, I taught in a variety of outdoor and traditional classroom settings. I worked as a program director of a sailing and marine biology program for teens, a SCUBA diving instructor, a camp counselor, and a wilderness therapy guide. While preparing for the arrival of my daughter, I earned an Arizona Teaching Certificate and starting teaching in the classroom. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Natural Resources from Oregon State University and use this knowledge to make connections to our natural world while teaching.
My biggest passion is teaching science and environmental stewardship to our future generations. I also enjoy bringing outdoor education components into the classroom. I love to inspire the students to take leadership roles in their classroom and have ownership over their classroom culture. In my spare time, I enjoy biking, trail running, kayaking, and spending time with my firefighter husband and my beautiful two-year-old daughter. I'm honored to be a part of the Skyview Community and look forward to contributing my knowledge and passion to Skyview students!

Jenny has been a part of Skyview School since 2009. She started out as a work-study student from Prescott College, helping in our Kindergarten.  Since then, she has been working alongside Ashley Fine in the Intermediate 3/4 and has loved every minute of it!
Jenny is in the process of finishing up her degree at Yavapai College and hopes to continue working in the education field for years to come.  Originally from Wisconsin, she has fallen in love with the Southwest and all it has to offer.
When she's not working, Jenny enjoys hiking, ballroom dancing, backpacking, camping, singing, kayaking, and game nights with friends.

Shannon came to Arizona to attend Prescott College, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education. In her 6 years working with youth, she has filled a variety of roles, including environmental educator, camp counselor, and backpacking instructor. She has taught in Prescott as an instructor at Nature Camp: All Children in the Woods, and developed curriculum to link their programming with Arizona Science Standards. Shannon completed her student teaching at Skyview and fell in love with their dedication to learning and community.

In her free time, Shannon loves to rock climb, mountain bike, and backpack. She is passionate about the relationship between humans and the outdoors, and it is her belief that education has the power to create change by fostering connections between youth and the world around them. She is so humbled and excited to join the Skyview community and continue to inspire young people!
